Creating Japanese sweet potato marketing materials
Project Brief
A Japanese sweet potato farmer was trying to export their product to North American and they required promotional materials in English.
Approach
First, we learned about their product to understand the differences and positive qualities compared to the usual sweet potatoes found in the North American market. Second, we highlighted the differences to the North Americans buyers. It is important to understand the target market’s business style and trends prior to preparing materials for international trade. Our North American branch staff were successful in delivering the message and prepared the following materials:
- the producer’s history and product information
- the planting and harvesting schedules
- the harvesting and storage process
- produce a comparison chart regarding the characteristics between Japanese sweet potato and other varieties
Results
The client presented marketing materials to potential Canadian importers and wholesalers. This resulted in a virtual meeting and a potential buyer requesting samples.
